001: The Return

Frame One - An empty void.
Caption: First, there was nothing.

Frame Two - Jed floats in space, wearing a pair of boxer briefs. He is striking a muscle-man pose that makes him look chiseled, like some sort of Abercrombie model.
Caption 1: Then, there was Jed, universally recognized beefsteak!
Caption 2: ....And it was good.

Frame Three - Jed is striking the same pose in a very messy bedroom in front of his mirror, but he no longer looks pleased with the appearance as he glances down his tighty whities.
Jed: Objects in mirror may be larger than they appear...?

Characters

Jed
Jed is the protagonist of Juicy Acres. He is equal parts Ego and SuperEgo - striving for perfection but all too aware of his own shortcomings. Jed is sometimes neurotic, but always nerdy. He's an office drone with dreams of worming his way into MENSA.

Nimrod
Nimrod was named after somebody in the Bible. One of those "begot" names in the Old Testament. His parents honestly don't remember. Nimrod has been Jed's friend his entire life, and is pure Id. He's actually much smarter than Jed is, but you'd never know it. Nimrod is a junior professor at the local university.

Gillian
A young Irish woman with a fierce temper who lives next door to Jed and Nimrod. Gillian is Jed's not-girlfriend, and she is painfully aware of his crush on her. Gillian is a full-figured woman who has no body consciousness whatsoever, which makes her almost excessively confident. Gillian is a student at the local university.

Demetri Romanov
A professor at the local university. Wants tenure. Is continually denied. Hates everyone.

Cai Lin
The girlfriend of Professor Demetri Romanov. Cai is blind, but generally requires little assistance in her day-to-day activities. As angry and terrifying as Demetri is, Cai is much more so, and clearly wears the pants in this relationship.

Pelt
A rejected Pokemon concept that appears as a glitch in Jed and Nimrod's videogames. He swears, smokes, and gives perpetually awful advice from the television set.

Lucrecia Holmes
Jed's psychiatrist. Jed causes her quite a few headaches, but she has a somewhat secret and unprofessional crush on him.
